IIM-M to Launch Undergraduate Programme at New Pune Campus

IIM-Mumbai is ready to enter undergraduate education by offering a four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in digital sciences and business management from its planned satellite campus in Pune. It aims to commence the initial batch in July 2026 and extend the program to its Mumbai campus once the necessary infrastructure is established.

IIM-Mumbai's latest program intends to integrate management education with cutting-edge technologies, tackling industry demands in fields such as IoT, blockchain, generative AI, machine learning, and data sciences. This initiative will be launched in partnership with prominent automation and hyper automation sectors, according to director Manoj Tiwari, who described it as a “futuristic and game-changing” course.

The institute intends to contact the National Testing Agency to utilize JEE scores for admissions. Although the fee has not been established, it might fall between Rs 6-8 lakh annually.  Students will actively participate with industry partners who will provide the programme. One of the four semesters will be designated for internships.

Tiwari mentioned that the initiative has been created with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision for businesses and industries in mind. IIM-Bangalore, which launched an online undergraduate program in 2023, will introduce two additional undergraduate programs, BSc (honours) in economics and a corresponding degree in data sciences, next year, each with 40 seats.

IIM-Sambalpur is additionally providing a BS degree that integrates management and public policy. Hemang Panchmatia, head mentor at a prominent coaching institute, stated that the need for quality management and related programs greatly exceeds the existing supply; thus, the Brand IIM in the undergraduate sector will attract students and parents.
