Recently, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell at IIT Delhi, together with the cybersecurity think tank CyberPeace, unveiled the E-Raksha Hackathon 2026 as collaboration.

The event will be at the national level and will be concentrating on the areas of cybersecurity, defence AI, and digital safety. Through this initiative, students will be able to discover new ways of thinking and working in these important fields.

The hackathon is planned to take place from January 16 to 18 at IIT Delhi, and it will last for 36 hours. It is part of BECon'26, which is the annual entrepreneurship conclave of the institute, and it will also be an event before the summit of the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The aim of the event is to gather student innovators from all over India and get them to work on the development of the very solutions that the emerging digital threats will need.

The participants will be dealing with challenges from AI and machine learning, threat detection, blockchain, and secure software development, and the problem statements will include securing home IoT devices and detecting deepfakes through the use of agentic AI.

Lakshmi Narayan Ramasubramanian, Head of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell at IIT Delhi stated, “We are proud to team up with CyberPeace to develop practical, scalable solutions that address defence-related problems and enhance national security”.

According to the CyberPeace's Founder Major Vineet Kumar, the hackathon will turn out to be a great help to the cause of AI being used responsibly, digital trust and cybersecurity through the different stakeholders' collaboration.

The winning solutions will be presented at the India AI Impact Summit which will take place on February 10 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and the total cash prizes will amount to Rs 3 lakh.

On the other hand, IIT Delhi is still carrying on with its superb placement performance. In December, the total number of students with pre-placement offers was 1,277 and the number of final job placements was over 1,140. Out of these placements, one-third was pre-placement offers (PPOs) which signified a 33% increase compared to last year.

In addition, international students received more than 35 offers, from countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, UAE, and the UK. The top recruiters who made multiple offers included Amazon, Google, Microsoft, EY, JP Morgan, Accenture, Qualcomm, Bajaj Auto, Oracle, and Wells Fargo; this is a clear indicator of IIT Delhi’s strong campus recruitment ecosystem.

Thus, this event reinforces IIT Delhi’s promise to support students in their entrepreneurship, cybersecurity innovation, and global career opportunities.
