Delhi University Launches 3-Month AI Filmmaking Course
Delhi University launches a three-month AI Film Making certificate course covering AI-assisted storytelling, visual creation, editing and audio production, with registrations open until October 31, 2026.
The University of Delhi has introduced a new Certificate Course in AI Film Making through its Campus of Open Learning (COL), offering learners practical training in the use of artificial intelligence across different stages of film production. The three-month programme is designed to combine conceptual learning with hands-on activities and project-based exercises.
The offline course has 30 seats and carries a fee of ₹15,000. Registration for the upcoming batch began now, and will remain open until October 31. According to the university's course information, the first batch is tentatively scheduled to begin in the first week of November, with classes planned for Saturdays and Sundays.

AI-Focused Filmmaking Skills: The programme covers the use of AI-enabled tools and workflows from the initial stages of filmmaking through post-production. Learners will be introduced to ideation and brainstorming, story development, storyboard creation and visual world building.
The curriculum also includes prompt writing, text-to-image generation and the creation of AI-generated visual assets. Students will further learn video editing, audio production, background scoring and project-based AI-assisted film production. The course is intended to help participants understand how AI can be incorporated into creative workflows rather than focusing solely on theoretical concepts.
The skills gained through the programme can support entry-level and freelance opportunities in film and video production, digital media, advertising, social media, content creation and other creative industries. Potential roles listed by the university include AI film-making assistant, AI-assisted content creator, junior video editor, AI visual content assistant and digital media content executive.
Eligibility and Admission: The course is open to DU students as well as other eligible learners. Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board and possess basic computer literacy. Familiarity with social media content creation, basic photo or video editing and creating videos using a phone or computer is desirable, according to the university.

Admissions will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to seat availability. DU has also clarified that the programme provides foundational and practical skills and does not guarantee employment or placement. The course is being conducted at the Centre for Innovative Skill-Based Courses, Open Learning Development Centre, in Keshav Puram, New Delhi.
