IIMC Launches PhD Programme in Mass Communication and Journalism

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) will launch its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Mass Communication and Journalism in the next academic year.
Anupama Bhatnagar, the vice-chancellor of IIMC, has announced the introduction of the new programme and mentioned that the institution is prepared to take on the responsibility of overseeing the PhD programme. The new initiative will support research in the media and communication field, aiming to enhance IIMC’s objective of remaining a leader in this area of study.
Nimish Rustagi, the registrar of IIMC, states that the institute aims to take the lead in research within media, journalism, and communication. He emphasized the importance of promoting scientific research in these areas and confirmed IIMC's dedication to supporting this initiative, a ToI report states.

The IIMC PhD 2025 guidelines were established at the 151st meeting of the Institute's Executive Council. The meeting, led by the vice-chancellor, resulted in the formal endorsement of these rules, as confirmed by the notification released after the Council's meeting. However, the complete information brochure and admission notification will be published shortly on the official website by the authorities.
