The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to commence an academic program in accountancy and finance, which strives to promote professional excellence and innovation. The partnership, announced in New Delhi, seeks to blend IIM Indore's rigour in academia with ACCA's global expertise to develop bold and creative pathways for learning in accountancy and finance for accountancy and finance professionals of the future.
This partnership will enable joint academic programs, workshops, seminars, and professional education opportunities; and train-the-trainer and faculty development programs. ACCA and IIM Indore will also emphasize research and innovation to position accounting and finance to evolve the profession.

Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, reiterated that this partnership can shape leaders spectrum in a future-forward manner by taking global industry practices coupled with the highest standards of academic delivery. Md. Sajid Khan, ACCA's Director for India, said they have to help students develop globally recognized professional qualifications, build skills for the empowerment of the economy, businesses and public sector for the countries and not drench their life in the world of finance.
Aligned with India's rising demand for skilled finance professionals, the accountancy profession is set to make an important contribution to the Indian economy projected at $7 trillion by 2030. This collaboration provides an opportunity to develop IIM Indore and ACCA as an effective conduit for developing a strong network around knowledge sharing, it will help improve the capacity of accountancy in India and prepare professionals for an increasingly dynamic global marketplace.
