National Talent Scholarship: Eligibility, Benefits & How to Apply

 

National Talent Scholarship for Undergraduate Programs is an initiative by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to support students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture at universities recognized by ICAR. The scholarship is available to students studying outside their state of domicile.

For continued support, the scholarship is renewable throughout the undergraduate program, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic performance and conduct themselves as per the university’s guidelines. Get full details of this centrally sponsored scheme here.

Candidates must meet specific criteria to be eligible for the National Talent Scholarship. The applicant must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at an agricultural university recognized by ICAR, and the institution should be located outside their state of residence.

The scholarship recipient must maintain academic excellence and good behaviour, as certified by the Head of their institution. Students must attend classes regularly, refrain from participating in strikes or agitations, and pursue their studies full-time without engaging in part-time employment.

The National Talent Scholarship offers financial aid of Rs 2000 per month for students pursuing their undergraduate studies. This amount is provided to support students enrolled in Bachelor’s degree programs.

Applicants must upload scanned copies of their photographs, signatures, and thumb impressions when they submit their online application. It is important to note that no certificates need to be uploaded at the time of submission.

The application for the National Talent Scholarship must be submitted online only. Interested candidates can complete the application form through the official website at icar.nta.ac.in. Applications submitted through any other method will not be accepted apart from the online process.
