Dr. P. Narasimha Reddy

He is the Executive Director is founder Principal of this institution. He had a long experience in India and abroad in teaching, research and educational administration before he was invited to establish the institution by Sree Educational Society, the sponsors of Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology.

"What attributes will the engineer of 2020 have? He or she will aspire to have the ingenuity of Lillian Gilbreth, the problem-solving capabilities of Gordon Moore, the scientific insight of Albert Einstein, the creativity of Pablo Picasso, the determination of the Wright brothers, the leadership abilities of Bill Gates, the conscience of Eleanor Roosevelt, the vision of Martin Luther King, and the curiosity and wonder of our grandchildren," as written in the book The Engineer of 2020 by National Academy of Engineering. Various methodologies, various studies, researches, and a number of experts have cast in their opinions on the attributes of the 'Quintessential Engineer' who is the need of the industry today. Some believe they possess a strong analytical aptitude while others say they are creative, team players, leadership-material and possess an active sense of problem solving. Combining all these elements and many more to meet the vision of the foreseeable future requirements of the industry has Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology come into existence. "The industry at present agrees that only 20 to 25 percent of graduates are employable," says Dr. P. Narasimha Reddy, Executive Director, SNIST; "we strive by every passing minute to give out a better working professional to the world who is ready and equipped with the apt information and skills to face the industry."
Relentless pursuits of preparing new onset of skills in its graduates have pushed SNIST a notch higher in pursuing its vision to emerge as a leading institution of higher education by way of achieving excellence in the chosen fields of Technical disciplines through teaching, research and consultancy steeped in values. "Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology transforms its students into technically competent, highly communicative and application oriented Engineers. Their success in the globally competitive technological world and leadership in their chosen profession, are our objectives," adds Dr. Reddy. His words reflect the magnanimity assembled for the pathway it creates for the engineers of the new age.

Established under the Societies Act in 1996, under the Chairmanship of Dr. K. Prudvipathi Rao; Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology set out on an odyssey inculcating principles and upholding values to give a new meaning to the term 'Engineer'. Leading by example like Dr. Reddy, the Director; the authorities at SNIST have shown their sheer concern in various facets of preparing graduates who are ready for the employment market.

Industry Insights for the Current Needs

Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology is pro-active with regard to giving a sense of direction for teaching various subjects as per the industry needs. The college is on the forefront to prepare the course structure and the syllabi for different branches of engineering and conducting brain storming sessions with Professors invited from various sister engineering colleges and from the affiliating University i.e. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Bridge courses are organized at the institute where skills are developed amongst the outgoing students to face the competitive world.

An autonomous institution, approved by AICTE, and accredited by
NAAC with 'A' Grade, SNIST aims at excellence in Teaching Learning Process, by empowering the teachers to deliver the curriculum effectively by organizing Effective Teaching Programs through Micro-teaching techniques and also rewarding the best teachers every year. A similar regard of appreciation goes towards the non-teaching staff and students as they are encouraged to do their best through recognition of their achievements with a view to felicitate their hardships."Competency to perform and outdo oneself differentiates leaders than mere achievers," says Dr. Reddy. A number of methods to develop competencies for improving employability of students are integrated in the curriculum of SNIST. The institution has made it primarily compulsory for the students to improve their study skills with a name to inculcate self-learning which would help their ability to learn. Adding to these methods of preparing industry ready engineers are the MoUs of the institute. MoUs with Cherlapally Industries Association and various industries related to different disciplines, the institution offers programs at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level that are in sync with the industry. Projects, Internships, Dissertation are encouraged to give rise to the performers in the students. The results of the implementation of these dynamic methods have projected in the placements of the institute where students outshine year after year. The last academic year at SNIST witnessed placements of over 90 percent with industrial biggies such as Deloitte, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, GGK Technologies and many such names visiting the campus seeking for its rich talent, offering lucrative packages as high as 14.5 lakhs. Located in Telangana, SNIST is the first institute to attain autonomy in the state. Aspirations ahead to encourage research and consultancy activities in its faculty and to offer courses in Aviation from the US University set a pathway for proliferation of the institute in the coming years to evolve and produce the Quintessential Engineer of the Future.
