Chevening 2025: Apply Now for Scholarships & Fellowships
- Applications open August 5 to October 7 for UK master’s and fellowships.

The applications for the Chevening Scholarship and Fellowship programs have been opened by the UK government. The due date is October 7. These provide complete financial assistance for a one-year master's program at any university in the UK or a specialized professional development course at selected institutions.
Chevening Scholarships are open to Indian citizens who have at least two years of work experience gained after an undergraduate degree. Chevening Fellowships are demanding programs of 8-12 weeks duration at prominent UK institutions, intended for mid-to-senior level professionals. The fellowships provide a multidisciplinary experience through presentations, workshops, site visits, and engagement with professionals.
Applications for the program commence from 5 August and close on 7 October. Your application will be assessed against eligibility criteria, pausing in October 2025, and will be reviewed and rated by the reading committee from mid-October 2025 until January 2026.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews from March 2026 to April 2026, and candidates will be notified of the results by mid-June 2026. The deadline to accept the final offer will be 9 July, and the fellowship is intended to commence between September and October 2026.

Chevening Cyber Security Fellowship: Offered at Cranfield University, this program aids professionals in cyber policy and security from government, law enforcement, academia, and the private sector.
Chevening Gurukul Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence: Based at the University of Oxford, this premier program cultivates future leaders from various sectors such as government, civil society, media, and business.
Chevening Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship: Offered at the University of Oxford, this program unites experts in science, technology, innovation, and public policy.
Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship: Held at the University of Westminster, this fellowship is designed for journalists from South Asia, such as those from India, focusing on political, economic, and business journalism.

The chosen candidates will get email notifications regarding their application status at every phase of the selection procedure. Applicants can also verify their status on the online application platform by signing in with their registration information.
Who are not eligible to apply?
- Individuals holding British or dual British citizenship (except citizens of a British Overseas Territory or BN(O) holders applying from Hong Kong).
- Individuals with refugee status in a country not eligible for Chevening. Citizens of an eligible country with refugee status in another eligible country are eligible.
- Employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of the UK government, British Embassies/High Commissions, the British Council, or sponsoring UK universities.
- For Chevening Partner organisations, applicants are ineligible for partner awards from the organisation if employed there within the last two years.
- Individuals who have previously studied in the UK on a UK government-funded scholarship.
The scholarship includes university tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, the cost of one visa application, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.
