CSAB Special Counselling, DASA UG 2026 Registration Begins

The Central Seat Allocation Board begins registration for CSAB Special Counselling and DASA UG 2026. Eligible candidates can apply and fill choices until August 3 for admission to vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other institutes.

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has started the online registration and choice-filling procedure for CSAB Special Counselling 2026 and Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) UG 2026. The procedure has been formulated with the aim of filling up the empty undergraduate engineering seats left after JoSAA Counselling Rounds. Interested candidates can register themselves via CSAB website till 3rd August 2026.

The unique counselling procedure enables access to available seats in all the NIT+ program institutions, which includes the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), IIEST Shibpur, and some other selected technical institutions. Individuals who fulfill the specified eligibility requirements and have valid JEE Main 2026 marks can enroll for the counselling procedure.

Under the process of admission, the applicants have to follow a number of steps, such as online registration, paying the requisite counselling fees, uploading relevant documents, and submission of the preferred choice of institutes and courses within the deadline period. The board has also announced the vacant seats list for the respective institutes.

As per the official schedule, mock seat allotment shall be released on July 31 when candidates can check their seat allotments and modify their choices, if need be. The time period to fill up the choices will be till August 3 after which the selection choices made by the candidates will be considered for further seat allotment process. First seat allotment process will be declared in the first week of August followed by other procedures such as willingness submission and so forth.

The CSAB Special Counselling is an extra chance for those candidates who could not get admission into any institute or course through JoSAA or wanted to join some other institute or course. This procedure is very important in making sure that the vacant seats in engineering in top technological institutes are occupied before the start of the academic year.
