JMI Launches German, Japanese UG Programs and Advanced Diploma
- JMI launches UG programs in German and Japanese Studies for 2025–26.
- Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance & Counseling accredited by RCI.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has started three new courses to begin in the 2025–26 session: B.A.(Hons.) in German Studies, B.A.(Hons.) in Japanese Studies, and Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance & Counseling. The announcement was made on August 25, 2025, the courses will be self-financed and applications will close on September 6, 2025, via the JMI online admission portal, a test for admission will be held on September 14, 2025.
The undergraduate programs in German Studies and Japanese Studies respect the N.E.P. (2020) in the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP). However, these courses not only accept language acquisition, but also more than language acquisition through cultural studies, translation, interpretation, industry etc. These courses prepare students for a long-term career in education, research, or even the corporate sector that will take them globally and culturally connected with Europe and Japan.

The Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance & Counseling which is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), prepares graduates to be employed in schools, hospitals, non-profit/NGO settings, healthcare organizations and government agencies. This advanced diploma program will also prepare speak to the increased market demand for certified child counselors.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mazhar Asif stated that these programs also seek to expand JMI’s academic presence in foreign language education broadening views on bilingualism, and make very impactful contributions to child counseling. This initiative rightly reflects JMI's dedication to Industry-oriented and NEP compliant education while also expanding the professional and cultural landscape of India on the International stage.
