AICTE, BSNL Partner to Strengthen Technical Education, Skill Growth

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have forged a strategic alliance to improve the landscape of technical education and skill enhancement nationwide.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed by Dr. More Ramulu, Member Secretary (I/C), AICTE, and Samita Luthra, Sr. GM, BSNL, in the distinguished presence of Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, alongside senior representatives from both entities.
The partnership harnesses AICTE's position as India's leading authority for technical education and BSNL's extensive knowledge as one of the country's oldest telecom service providers, boasting nationwide reach and experience in Telecom, IT, Networking, and Management. The institutions collaborate to create a workforce prepared for the future, possessing skills that meet global industry requirements.
Emphasizing the importance of the collaboration, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, said, "Through this initiative, we aim to offer industry-relevant education and build a skilled talent pool to support India's growth in emerging domains such as Telecom, Next Gen Communications, 5G & 6G Mobile Services, and Cybersecurity. This collaboration will further strengthen the AICTE ecosystem by enhancing faculty capabilities and providing students with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies."
Samita Luthra, Sr. GM, BSNL, emphasized the importance of matching technical education with changing industry needs, "This joint effort reflects our shared vision to make technical education more dynamic and industry-responsive. BSNL brings deep expertise in advanced skill development, while AICTE offers a vast academic network. Together, we will embed real-world competencies into academic programs, ensuring inclusive, scalable, and globally benchmarked education," Luthra said.

According to the MoU, AICTE and BSNL will work together on faculty development initiatives, student training programs, institutional capacity enhancement, research projects, and pilot initiatives. BSNL will act as a training partner for institutes approved by AICTE, enabling faculty and students to utilize BSNL's nationwide infrastructure and facilities.
Faculty Development Initiatives (FDIs) will take place to enhance teaching skills in new technologies, while internships will equip students to align with industry demands and promote entrepreneurship. The collaboration seeks to establish a mutually beneficial framework where academic institutions and businesses collaborate to fulfill the skill needs of the emerging economy.
This MoU represents an important advancement in connecting classroom education with industry practice, elevating India's technical education system to the leading edge of global competitiveness.
