Uzbekistan Announces Fully-Funded Master's Scholarships for Indians

The Republic of Uzbekistan has declared five fully-funded scholarships for Indian students to undertake Master’s degree programmes at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Samarkand, for the academic year 2025-26.

These scholarships are available for Indian graduates who are interested in areas like Tourism and Hospitality, Archaeology, Museum Studies, Restoration, and Management. The classes are taught in English. Eligible and interested students may submit their applications by August 1, 2025, through the university's application portal - admissions.univ-silkroad.uz.

The scholarships will offer extensive assistance to chosen candidates, including annual round-trip economy airfare, a monthly allowance of USD 500, housing aid of up to USD 100 monthly, and two yearly cultural excursions within Uzbekistan, each featuring a travel allowance of USD 100.

To be eligible, applicants must submit a valid passport or ID, a Bachelor's degree certificate, a CV with a recent photo, and proof of English proficiency (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72, or CEFR B2), unless their undergraduate studies were conducted in English.

Additionally, candidates are required to submit a 1 to 1.5-page essay titled "Contributing to the development of tourism of the SCO countries."

The university boasts a campus with contemporary educational amenities, such as a bar-restaurant, hotel accommodations, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a virtual library. Instruction is offered solely in English, and the organization partners with top international universities.

The Government of India's Ministry of Education has stated that it does not participate in the nominating or selection process. The final selection will be made by the Government of Uzbekistan.
