Vietnam enhances its partnership with India through digital transformation and innovation and advanced technological research when it studies successful models developed at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and India’s Aadhaar digital identity system. The high-ranking Vietnamese delegation that visited India conducted talks about potential partnerships in deep technology and innovation ecosystems and national digital infrastructure building.

Vietnamese officials studied the research-based innovation model at IIT Madras during their meetings with the institute's leadership which integrates academic research with industry partnerships and startup incubation and advanced technology development. The research facilities at IIT Madras have developed into one of India's top centers for semiconductor research and robotics research and quantum technology research and smart mobility research and biomedical engineering research. Vietnamese representatives expressed interest in adapting similar innovation-focused academic frameworks to accelerate Vietnam's technology and digital economy ambitions.

The delegation conducted talks with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which operates the Aadhaar digital identity program. Aadhaar currently provides unique digital identification numbers to more than 1.4 billion citizens and supports electronic authentication, biometric verification, and access to public services and banking services and healthcare services and welfare schemes throughout India. Vietnamese officials researched Aadhaar's role as essential digital infrastructure which provides secure and affordable public services across the entire country.
