Students aspiring to pursue advanced studies in Japan can apply for the fully funded MEXT Scholarship 2026 at Yokohama National University (YNU). Provided by the Japanese government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the scholarship allows international students to study for Master’s and PhD degrees at a top research university in Japan.
The scholarship funds a two-year Master’s program and a three-year PhD course. Applicants must present an English Proficiency Certificate from their most recent institution and are not required to submit IELTS or GRE scores.
The MEXT Scholarship offers extensive financial aid to chosen students, including round-trip international flight expenses, complete tuition fee exemption, and a monthly allowance of ¥144,000 for Master's students and ¥145,000 for PhD students. Moreover, beneficiaries obtain an additional monthly stipend of ¥2,000–3,000, in addition to housing assistance, medical insurance, and health coverage for the entire period of their studies.

Applicants for a Master's degree scholarship must possess a valid undergraduate degree. For PhD candidates, applicants are required to possess a Master's degree or its equivalent.
