For the students who want to pursue their career in the legal profession, LLB is the undergraduate professional degree and an absolute option to enter the radiance of the legal world. Abbreviated as Legum Baccalaureus, which means Bachelor of Laws, the course covers the subjects such as legal procedures, legal principles, ideals of corporate governance, and laws and regulations of countries. LLB unbolts the door to an extensive range of opportunities that cannot be achieved by other career options. Apart from entering into three major organs of the Government comprising of Legislature, Executive and Judiciary, the career opportunities for students in India after completing LLB is abundant.

- Advocate: One of the foremost professions chosen by LLB graduates, a career in advocacy permits the students to practice in the courts. But it is also mandatory that the aspirants need to qualify the examination conducted by the All India Bar council first, to acquire eligibility for their practice. After getting registered with All India Bar Council, they can choose to practice in any court across the country. But the journey doesn’t end here, as before becoming a proficient advocate, every candidate needs to acquire some pragmatic experience as a Junior assistant under the guidance of a senior advocate. Involving various tasks such as drafting files along with studying legal documents and cases, this experience helps them gain a lot of perspective about the law before working as an independent lawyer.
- Legal Advisor: After completing LLB, students can work as legal advisors by joining law firms, Private Companies, Corporate firms, or Banks. They can assist by providing advice on various legal matters which can help firms or peoples to act accordingly in a particular situation. Most of the corporate conglomerates and government organizations hire legal advisors who can help them in solving the challenging legal compliances and suggest accordingly.
- Govt. Services: Joining the Government Services after completing LLB is one of the best choices that the law graduates can opt for as they would be qualified for Indian Legal Services and the various posts that it offers including Legislative Counsel in the Legislative department and Legal advisors in the Department of Legal Affairs. However, it is mandatory that the aspirants should qualify the exam held by the Public Service Commission. The qualified candidates will be eligible to join the Air Force, Indian Army, and the Navy. They are also entitled to qulify the exams like HAS and IAS organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) or SPSC (State Public Service Commission) along with the option of becoming an Assistant Public Prosecution or Public Prosecutor.
- Teaching: Candidates with impressive academic record along with the skill of explaining and narrating various topics to students are perfect to pursue their career in the teaching domain and become a lecturer in one of the best-recognized Universities or Law Colleges of the country. After completing LLM, they either can go for research in their respective field of study and earn a PhD. Which will make them eligible for becoming professor in Government Universities and Private Universities as well.
- Judiciary: Law graduates are eligible to work for the Judicial machinery of Country as a Judge or Magistrate after passing a Judicial examination conducted by the Public Service Commission. The lowest post of the Magistrate or Subjudge is filled through Public Service Commission or by the supervision of High Court.
- Politics: The students who are interested in partake in the governance of the country can enter politics after acquiring their LLB degree. If the candidates have deep knowledge regarding all the three domains of the government including Legislature, Executive and Judiciary they can contribute actively to the nation and emerge as a politician. Even if in India, joining politics does not mandate any educational qualification there are several top political leaders in the country who are law graduates.
