BITS Pilani Introduces BE-MBA, Pharma Engineering Courses

- Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani launches five-year BE-MBA dual degree programme for 2026–27 academic session
- Students complete engineering first, then pursue MBA without CAT, GRE, or GMAT through vertical transfer option
- Institute also introduces BE in Pharmaceutical Engineering, integrating AI, biotechnology, and advanced industry-focused learning modules
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani will introduce two new academic programs for the 2026-27 academic years which will create engineering programs that match current industrial needs while supporting interdisciplinary education.
The institute will establish a five-year intercampus dual degree program that leads to a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration degree together with a new Bachelor of Engineering program in Pharmaceutical Engineering.
The programs will provide students with technical skills and managerial training which will enable them to work in fast-changing industries that focus on innovation.
The BE-MBA dual degree programme will allow students to complete their engineering studies in the first three years at BITS Pilani campuses in Pilani, Goa, or Hyderabad, which they will follow with two years of management education at BITS School of Management (BITSoM) in Mumbai.
Students who finish their studies will obtain both degrees through a streamlined process which provides easier access than separate degree programs.

The newly established BE in Pharmaceutical Engineering will combine fundamental engineering principles with pharmaceutical engineering core scientific principles.
The programme will cover drug formulation bioprocess engineering regulatory science and computational modelling while incorporating artificial intelligence, machine learning and Industry 4.0 technologies.
The students will have access to advanced tools which include digital twins IoT-enabled systems and virtual laboratories together with international internship opportunities and research partnership programs.
The programs at BITS Pilani demonstrate the university's commitment to interdisciplinary education which prepares students with future-ready skills. The programs integrate technology and management and life sciences to create solutions that fulfill the requirements of contemporary industrial needs.
