C-DOT, IIT Roorkee Launch CoE for 5G, 6G & Quantum R&D

- C-DOT partners with IIT Roorkee to create Telecom Centre of Excellence.
- CoE focuses on 5G/6G, quantum, AI, and cybersecurity research.
- Initiative supports students, start-ups, and strengthens India’s telecom self-reliance.
In a major move to bolster India’s capabilities in next-generation telecom technologies, the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Roorkee to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on the IITR campus.
This initiative aims to accelerate indigenous research, innovation, and capacity building in advanced communication technologies, aligning with India’s vision of a self-reliant and Viksit Bharat.
Under the agreement, the CoE will focus on cutting-edge research in areas such as wireless communication, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and AI-driven applications. It will serve as a collaborative platform where academia and industry can jointly develop solutions, positioning India as a global leader in telecom innovation.
The Centre will support students, researchers, and start-ups by providing access to advanced infrastructure, mentorship, and opportunities to develop prototypes and intellectual property.
