IET Extends India’s Engineering Scholarship Deadline to 22 June

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), one of the largest professional engineering bodies in the world, has given more aspiring engineers a chance to come forward and demonstrate their ability to address real-world problems through innovation by extending the application deadline for the 9th edition of the 'IET India Scholarship Award' to 22 June 2025.

The IET India Scholarship Award is known to be one of India's most prestigious scholarship schemes for undergraduate engineering students. The IET India Scholarship award exists for students enrolled as full-time student in any programme recognised by AICTE/UGC in India.

The Award aims to help discover and develop the next generation of engineering leaders- the Award puts value not just on academic performance, but on students who are passionate about the meaningful impact of technology on society.

With a total prize fund of Rs 10 lakhs on offer, the National Winner will receive Rs 3,00,000, as well as nine additional awards specifically for regional winners and runners-up. Allowing the student to benefit further than just financially, the programme also offers potential opportunities for national exposure, being able to present their innovation to leading industry players, and being connected to the IET's global community of professionals.

Ajay Salariya, India Awards & Scholarships Manager at The Institution of Engineering and Technology, said, “By extending the deadline, we hope to encourage more young innovators to take that first step. This is more than just a scholarship–it is a launchpad for tomorrow’s engineers to address the challenges of today. Last year, we were inspired by entries from over 2,000 cities and 2,260 colleges, and we look forward to an equally dynamic response this year.”

Candidates must hold an aggregate score of at least 60% or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale. The scholarship is open to students from any engineering specialisation and year of study, with no age limit. The selection process consists of four stages: an online test on core engineering knowledge, regional solution-thons, and a national final to be held in September 2025.
