IIT Delhi Launches Second Batch of Executive Programme in AI

IIT Delhi launches the second batch of its six-month executive programme covering semiconductors, AI, photonics and deep-tech entrepreneurship, with applications open until September 29, 2026.

The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched the second batch of its Executive Programme in Semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep-Tech Entrepreneurship. The six-month programme is designed to provide participants with interdisciplinary knowledge of semiconductor and photonic technologies, AI applications and deep-tech venture creation.

The programme is conducted in online mode and is scheduled to begin on January 9, 2027, with classes continuing until June 12, 2027. The official IIT Delhi programme page lists September 29, 2026, as the application deadline. The programme comprises 80 hours of live online learning and is open to candidates holding a graduate degree in any discipline.

The curriculum focuses on three major areas semiconductors, AI and deep-tech entrepreneurship. It also introduces participants to photonics and its applications in communication and computing. The programme is particularly relevant for working professionals, engineers, researchers, technologists, startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to understand emerging hardware technologies and their commercial potential.

The programme consists of six major modules covering semiconductor and photonics fundamentals, advanced semiconductor electronic devices, advanced photonic devices for AI and high-performance computing, deep-tech entrepreneurship, industry case studies and interactions, and pitching and fundraising for deep-tech startups.

The academic content covers areas such as semiconductor physics, diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs and FinFETs, integrated circuits, photonic integrated circuits, optical components and emerging technologies for AI and high-performance computing. Participants also gain exposure to intellectual property strategy, commercialization, funding, manufacturing, supply chains and startup scaling.

The programme also includes industry interactions, case studies and a two-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi. The programme is coordinated by Professor Deepak Jain of the Optics & Photonics Center, IIT Delhi. Faculty members include Professor A. Aadhi from IIT Delhi and Professor Mihai Sanduleanu of Khalifa University of Science and Technology.

The total programme fee is ₹1,50,000, excluding 18% GST. IIT Delhi also provides an installment payment option, with the first installment of ₹75,000 plus GST payable within three days of the offer letter and the second installment of ₹75,000 plus GST payable on January 9, 2027.

Participants who maintain at least 40% attendance receive a participation certificate. A successful completion certificate is issued to candidates who meet the minimum 40% attendance requirement and secure at least 50% marks. The certificates are issued digitally by CEP, IIT Delhi.

The programme provides an integrated academic and entrepreneurial perspective on semiconductor, photonics and AI technologies, enabling participants to explore both the technical foundations and commercialisation pathways associated with emerging deep-tech innovations.
