IIT Delhi Launches 7-Month Online Programme for Executives

IIT Delhi’s CEP has launched a seven-month online Executive Programme for Chief of Staff, focusing on strategic leadership, decision-making, change management, operational excellence and innovation for mid- and senior-level professionals.

IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP) has launched a new Executive Programme for Chief of Staff, a seven-month online programme designed to help mid- and senior-level professionals strengthen strategic leadership, executive decision-making and organisational management capabilities. The programme is aimed at professionals seeking to take on broader leadership responsibilities and contribute directly to executive decision-making.

The programme focuses on the evolving role of a Chief of Staff, which increasingly involves supporting senior executives in translating organisational priorities into coordinated action. Participants will be introduced to frameworks and practical approaches for strategic thinking, decision-making, change management, operational excellence and innovation.

Delivered in an online format, the programme is structured to enable working professionals to pursue executive education alongside their existing responsibilities. The learning experience combines live sessions with faculty and industry experts, case-based learning and practical applications, allowing participants to examine leadership challenges through real-world business situations.

The curriculum is designed to develop capabilities required for working across functions and supporting senior leadership teams. Chief of Staff roles often require professionals to coordinate strategic initiatives, analyse business priorities, facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure that executive decisions are translated into measurable outcomes.

IIT Delhi’s initiative comes as organisations increasingly seek leadership professionals who can operate across business functions and manage complex strategic priorities. The Chief of Staff role has expanded beyond administrative support in many organisations, with professionals increasingly involved in programme execution, stakeholder management, organisational transformation and strategic planning.

The programme also reflects the growing demand for executive education that combines academic frameworks with practical business applications. By bringing together IIT Delhi faculty expertise and industry perspectives, the initiative is positioned to provide participants with structured exposure to contemporary leadership and management practices.

The online delivery model further enables professionals from different locations and sectors to participate without taking an extended break from their careers. This format is particularly relevant for experienced managers transitioning into enterprise-level responsibilities or professionals preparing for roles that require close engagement with senior executives.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate from IIT Delhi. The programme adds to CEP’s portfolio of executive education initiatives aimed at helping experienced professionals build specialised capabilities and respond to changing organisational and leadership requirements.
