  • Programs focus on data analytics, generative AI, and intelligent automation skills.
  • Participants receive certification, industry exposure, and incubation support up to ₹2 crore.

The I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, has teamed up with Simplilearn and Microsoft to introduce two professional certification programs designed to provide India’s workforce with advanced skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics.

The programs - Professional Certificate in Data Analytics, Generative AI, and Adaptive Systems, and Professional Certificate in Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation - aim to connect academic research with practical industry use.

As stated by IHFC, the program comes amidst a growing need for AI and data experts, with India's generative AI sector expected to expand at a CAGR exceeding 34 percent by 2030.

“The goal is to give Indian tech professionals access to the most industry-relevant and research-backed learning programs,” said Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO of IHFC–TIH, IIT Delhi. “By collaborating with Microsoft and Simplilearn, we aim to empower the workforce with future-ready AI skills and strengthen the link between academic innovation and industrial application,” Dutt Sharma added.

The initial program emphasizes data analytics and generative AI, integrating Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python, and IBM modules with sophisticated AI applications. Students will undertake a capstone project and acquire experience in data visualization, analysis, and ethical AI execution.

The second program encompasses the entire AI ecosystem, featuring data science, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and MLOps via more than 12 projects and 20 industry tools. Participants will receive access to master classes conducted by IHFC faculty and industry professionals, as well as chances for on-campus engagement at IIT Delhi and incubation assistance of up to Rs 2 crore for chosen innovators.

Kashyap Dalal, Co-founder and COO of Simplilearn, said the programs aims to equip individuals for positions that “apply the latest generative AI tools to real-world problems and drive innovation across industries.”

Graduates will obtain certification from IHFC–IIT Delhi and Microsoft, in addition to career assistance and mentoring opportunities.
