  • Government of India partners with Google and YouTube to launch nationwide AI skilling initiative
  • Programme aims to train youth in artificial intelligence, digital tools, and future-ready technology skills
  • Initiative focuses on accessibility, empowering creators, students, and professionals through online learning and certification

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has launched three new initiatives which will work to develop India's orange economy which includes all creative industries that produce arts and cultural works and media and design and entertainment and heritage.

He spoke about the value of creative industries for national development during an event which he referred to as the most important sector that drives both economic development and cultural heritage protection.

The initiatives will enable creators to access better market opportunities while they simultaneously build their creative industries through increased public involvement.

The first initiative focuses on strengthening digital and physical market linkages for creative producers. Artists’ designers and craft makers will receive support through platform development which enables them to display their work and sell it to customers in both national and international markets.

The government plans to create new revenue opportunities for creative professionals who have been unable to sell their work beyond their local area through better digital infrastructure and decreased entry barriers.

The second measure requires improved access to credit and funding and financial assistance for creative businesses. Small creative enterprises together with their individual workers face barriers to obtaining loans or investment because of their irregular income streams and unconventional business operations.

The new effort proposes tailored financial products with easier lending criteria and potential partnership with financial institutions to ensure creators can invest in their skills tools and projects without excessive financial strain.

The second measure needs better credit access combined with better funding access and better financial support for creative businesses. The unconventional business operations and irregular income streams of small creative enterprises create challenges for their employees and the businesses to secure loans and investment.

The new effort proposes tailored financial products which include more lenient lending requirements and the possibility of financial institution partnerships to enable creators to fund their skills development and equipment purchases and project work without facing excessive financial burden.

The Indian government uses these initiatives to establish its recognition of orange economy economic potential which supports creative professions and establishes India as an international center for research and artistic development.

The Creative ecosystem will experience increased growth because enhanced funding and market access and skill development programs will enable more equitable development and attract more participants.
