The program provides a total of 250 available seats, which include 100 seats that specifically serve women candidates. The announcement of results will take place between April 15 2026, and the internship program will begin around May 15 2026.

The program will start on July 14 2026 after interns complete one month of work, which continues until two months of work. The program does not allow participants to join remotely or work on a part-time basis.

Interns will receive a two-month fellowship of ₹15,000, which changes to ₹7,500 per month for shorter time periods or to ₹10,000 for one-and-a-half months. Interns will receive hostel accommodation but they need to pay for their mess charges.

The group of eligible candidates includes first-year MSc students studying core sciences together with first-year MA students, second-year BTech students, second-year BDes students, third-year BTech students, third-year BDes students, and third-year integrated BTech-MTech students.

The candidate must achieve top 20 percent of their class, which must be verified by their institution head, while they need to maintain full-time student status during the internship. Selection will proceed through initial screening, which will be followed by virtual interviews.

The selection process will assess academic performance together with achievements, competitive involvement and interview results. The IIT-H final decision will establish the binding result.
