IIT Madras declared the establishment of a cooperative relationship with Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) that is a provider of digital infrastructure that is highly critical and located in the U.S market, and IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation for the purpose of training over 2,000 STEM students in the field of data center operations and maintenance (O&M).
Vertiv’s initiative, which is part of the company’s overall strategy to support India’s talent pool for digital infrastructure, is designed to train the students in the latest technological skills so that they can be employed in the country’s fast-expanding digital economy.
The program is designed as a 35-hour self-paced online course that provides comprehensive coverage of data center infrastructures. In addition, it covers energy management, remote monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
This theoretical online learning is just the beginning, and in order to provide practical training and thus enhance the employability of students, 160 students, the first cohorts, will be engaged in a five-day immersive program at IIT Madras making them eligible to receive the certified intelligent data center operations and maintenance (CIDC-O&M) certification that is considered to be a globally recognized AI-driven data center expert certification.

The course content is targeted at the current needs of the industry. To achieve this, it has incorporated multiple learning tools such as case studies and students' observation of students through demonstrations. These are just examples of how new technologies are becoming closer to reality in the classroom. It is quite clear that this program executed by IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, a recipient of Department of Science and Technology grant under National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems, is relevant to today's digitally connected and always operational environments.
Such a partnership forms an essential element of the Indian digital infrastructure workforce and, thus, students will be able to handle the challenges of rapid sectoral developments in the future. If we refer to the finance card above, we can understand that Vertiv's stock (VRT) closed at $160.195, which is a signal of investors' trust in the company's growth plans.
