India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 Opens for 23,757 Posts

India Post announces 23,757 GDS vacancies under Schedule-II, July 2026. One-Time Registration begins on August 31, while online applications open September 2. Selection is based on Class 10 merit.

The Department of Posts in India Post has notified recruitment for 23,757 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) jobs in Schedule-II for the engagement month of July 2026. Recruitment is done for positions of Branch Post Master (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM), and Dak Sevak.

OTR  starts on 31st August 2026, while the applicants are allowed to register themselves online starting 2nd September 2026. Registration will continue up to 19th September 2026 till 5 pm, and the application window closes on 21st September 2026 by 5 pm. Correction facility for application will be provided from 23rd to 24th September 2026.

All applicants for this recruitment process should fulfill the required criteria. This includes educational qualifications as well as eligibility criteria. The candidates applying for the recruitment process should have successfully completed class 10 with Mathematics and English subjects. It is also necessary that the candidates have knowledge of the local language specified for their particular postal circle/ postal division.
