Railway NTPC Notification Out: Check Dates, Vacancies

Railway Recruitment Boards release the RRB NTPC 2026 indicative notification for 5,165 graduate and undergraduate vacancies, with applications scheduled to open in October 2026.

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the indicative notification for the RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Recruitment 2026, announcing 5,165 vacancies for graduate and undergraduate-level posts in Indian Railways. The recruitment is being conducted through separate Centralised Employment Notifications (CENs) for the two categories.

Of the total vacancies, 3,477 posts are earmarked for graduate-level candidates under CEN 06/2026, while 1,688 posts are available for undergraduate candidates under CEN 07/2026. The graduate-level recruitment covers posts in Pay Levels 5 and 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, while undergraduate positions fall under Pay Levels 2 and 3.

For the graduate category, the online application process is scheduled to begin on October 8, 2026, and continue until November 6, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. The graduate recruitment includes positions such as Station Master, Goods Train Manager and Senior Clerk-cum-Typist, among other NTPC posts.

Candidates applying under the graduate category are required to possess a recognised bachelor's degree. The indicative notice places the age range at 18 to 33 years, with applicable relaxations for eligible reserved categories. The detailed CEN is scheduled to provide the final post-wise eligibility requirements, fee structure and other recruitment conditions.

The undergraduate recruitment under CEN 07/2026 provides 1,688 vacancies for candidates who have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification. The application window is scheduled from October 15 to November 13, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. The posts include Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Clerk-cum-Typist and Trains Clerk.

The reported age requirement for the undergraduate category is 18 to 30 years, with age calculated as of January 1, 2027. Candidates are required to meet the prescribed Class 12 qualification from a recognised board. The detailed notification will specify the applicable category-wise relaxations and other conditions.

The recruitment process for NTPC posts generally involves Computer-Based Test (CBT) Stage 1 and CBT Stage 2, followed by a skill or typing test for posts where it is applicable.
