Synopsis: The Telangana government has invited applications for a free UPSC Civil Services coaching programme with a ₹5,000 monthly stipend and book grant. Eligible graduates can apply online from July 17 to August 7, 2026.
The Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Department says it has announced a free long-term coaching programme for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2027, where eligible candidates can get professional coaching along with financial assistance, plus academic support, so they can strengthen their preparation for one of India’s most competitive examinations. From what is being described, the whole programme will be done by the Telangana BC Employability Skill Development & Training Centre (TGBCESDTC) at the TG BC Study Circle, Saidabad, and Hyderabad.
Online applications for the coaching programme will be taken from July 17 to August 7, 2026 through the official TG BC Study Circle portal, so yes. The coaching sessions are planned to run from August 24, 2026 to May 2027, which gives nearly nine months of structured prep, for both the Preliminary and Main phases of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
In total, about 150 candidates will be taken into the programme. Out of these, 100 candidates will be chosen via an online screening test, but then the remaining 50 those who have already qualified the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination will get direct entry, meaning they won’t show up for the screening test. This is allowed only if they meet all the prescribed eligibility conditions, of course.

As per the notified schedule, the hall tickets for the screening test will be up from August 13, the screening examination takes place on August 16. Then, the results are planned to be announced on August 19. After that, the document verification starts on August 21, while classes are slated to commence on August 24, 2026.
This initiative shows the Telangana government’s real intent to make it easier for students from backward classes to get proper civil services coaching, not just in name but in practice. It blends free expert coaching, some financial help, and academic resources, so aspirants can actually focus instead of worrying. In a way, the whole programme is to lift the chances of capable candidates in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, while also encouraging broader representation within the public service, which is pretty important, you know.
