UPSC Invites Applications for 212 Direct Recruitment Posts

UPSC opens applications for 212 government posts through direct recruitment, including Assistant Professors, Assistant Public Prosecutors and law officers. Applications close on October 2, while Ladakh posts remain open until October 9.
Applications are being sought by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for 212 vacancies through direct recruitment in different government departments. Some of the areas where recruitment is being done include health, legal, mining, and administrative sectors. Eligible candidates may apply online on the UPSC website from September 12, 2026.
The deadline for applications of posts other than the ones under the administration of Union Territory of Ladakh is October 2, 2026. The applicants who apply for the posts under the administration of Union Territory of Ladakh can apply till October 9, 2026. It is advised by the commission that the candidates should go through the post-wise eligibility criteria.

A majority of the posts advertised are those of Assistant Public Prosecutor, which are 140 in number under the Directorate of Prosecution, Home Department, and Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is an excellent recruitment avenue for the law graduates and professionals who are eligible for joining the government legal services.
In addition to the above recruitment, there is also a vacancy for 60 posts of Assistant Professor (General Medicine) under the designation of Specialist Grade 3 in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Out of these posts, three posts are reserved for candidates who are in the PwBD category. There are also four vacancies for Specialist Grade 3 Assistant Professor (Anatomy).
Some other vacancies exist in the form of two Assistant Editor Posts with the Indian Bureau of Mines in the Ministry of Mines. One vacancy is there in the category of Specialist Grade 2 (Junior Scale) in Anaesthesiology and Paediatrics with the New Delhi Municipal Council. Additionally, four vacancies are available for the post of Public Law Officer / District Litigation Officer / Law Officer.
These include age restrictions, eligibility criteria, experience criteria, salary structure, and reservation criteria which differ depending on the nature of the job. For instance, the age restriction for the Specialist Grade 3 Assistant Professor (Anatomy) is 40 years for UR/EWS candidates while it is 45 years for SC candidates. The candidates should therefore check the advertisement for details.
In order to apply for the recruitment drive, candidates are supposed to apply using the online application portal of UPSC and follow the general as well as profile/module-wise instructions. Candidates should provide all information and relevant documents regarding their date of birth, category and education qualifications, URN, CAF and post specific application module.

According to UPSC, the omission of the relevant information/documents along with the Common Application Form will lead to the cancellation of candidature. It is recommended that candidates fill out their applications diligently and keep the filled out details safe for future references.
