Bihar Expands Free JEE, NEET Coaching to 155 Schools

Bihar School Examination Board expands free JEE and NEET coaching to 155 model schools, using experienced teachers, online classes and digital learning tools to improve access to competitive exam preparation.

Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) extends their free coaching scheme for JEE & NEET hopefuls to 155 carefully chosen Saraswati Vidya Niketan Model Schools within the state. The plan is to give these students access to preparation programs for engineering and medical entrance tests without having to incur expenses for private coaching.

According to BSEB Chairman Thiyagarajan SM, the coaching is going on under the guidance of experienced teachers and is helping the students in many ways. This expansion is part of a greater initiative undertaken by the state for integrating competitive exam preparations with school education.

The program is targeted at those students who are preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). These are two of the biggest entrance tests conducted in India for the purpose of admission into engineering and medical colleges. With an expansion of the project in 155 model schools, the board hopes to reach out to more students.

One of the most important factors in this expansion is the use of digital learning and online classes. This project begins its operation with two residential centers in Patna, but it has now expanded to cover a much wider range of schools by means of online learning. This approach allows the students from Bihar to attend classes conducted by experienced teachers while still being at their schools.

The digital way also assists in achieving the overall objective of improving technology-based education. Smart classes, online learning sources, and digital class lectures will enable the standardization of access to instructional materials within participating institutions. The digital model proves useful for the students in those areas where specialized centers offering JEE and NEET coaching are unavailable.

This is also based on the previous initiatives taken by the BSEB to offer free coaching. In July, the board organizes the coaching program which involves teachers who are experienced and have a good background in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

This is because Bihar has begun to realize the importance of bridging the inequality in preparation for competitive exams. Free coaching will help economically weak students get admissions to top engineering and medical institutions without having to rely completely on expensive coaching institutes.

This scheme also adds to the national discourse on the issue of affordable coaching for competitive exams. The Central Government also makes a separate announcement about free online coaching for competitive exams with the aim of decreasing the economic burden of the families.

By way of its extension to 155 model schools, the BSEB plans to integrate experienced faculty with technological resources and a structured approach towards learning. This move will help in preparing candidates aspiring to appear for the JEE and NEET examinations in addition to helping Bihar’s overall progress towards technology-based education.
