The University of Delhi has started its second registration period for PhD admissions which will take place during the 2025-26 academic years through its official admission portal.

The application process started on March 10, 2026, and all interested applicants must finish their online registration before March 24, 2026. The second phase of admissions provides another opportunity for students who wish to pursue doctoral research across various departments and research centres of the university.

The PhD programme at Delhi University covers a wide range of disciplines through its humanities and social sciences and science and commerce and specialized fields which different faculties of the university offer.

All candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements which the university has established. Applicants need to possess a master's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited institution with the necessary minimum academic performance to be eligible.

The programme selection process uses multiple criteria which include entrance test results and UGC NET or equivalent national test scores and department evaluation interviews.

The university will begin its next admission stage after the registration process ends. The period between March 27 and April 18, 2026 will serve as the time frame when departments and centres conduct their research presentations for selected candidates to their faculty members.

The admissions process uses interviews to evaluate research ability and make final admission decisions about candidates. The university uses the Phase-II admission cycle to optimize its doctoral admission process while accommodating students to its research programs.

The multiple admission windows which Delhi University provides throughout the academic year create more flexible options for students who wish to pursue advanced research programs.

The doctoral admission process requires applicants to review the official information bulletin and verify their eligibility before they submit their applications at the designated deadline.
