Gorakhpur University Launches UP’s First Dual MBA Programme

Synopsis: Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University launches Uttar Pradesh’s first dual MBA programme with Malaysia’s Lincoln University College, offering students international exposure and dual degrees through a two-country study model.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University (DDUGU) is planning to roll out what is being called Uttar Pradesh’s first dual Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, this time in collaboration with Lincoln University College, Malaysia.

It feels like a big move for the university’s internationalisation push and its goal is to give learners a management education that links to the global way of thinking, and yes, it’s supposed to be well integrated. The proposal has also gotten the go-ahead from DDUGU’s Executive Council, so now DDUGU is being described as the first state-run university in Uttar Pradesh to provide a dual MBA qualification along with a foreign institution.

With the new academic model, students will do the first academic year of the MBA programme at Gorakhpur University, and only then they will move on to the second year at Lincoln University College in Malaysia. If everything is completed properly, meaning the course requirements are met at both places, graduates will end up receiving MBA degrees from each university. In that way, their qualifications should gain stronger global standing, and the overall worth of the degree gets better.

The programme is laid out to give students an international academic exposure, and cross cultural learning experience, plus like a deeper grasp of how global business actually works. By spending time in two countries participants end up seeing different management styles and how international markets behave, also noticing emerging business patterns. This helps set them up, for leadership roles in multinational organisations, and for working across global industries.

The dual MBA programme is part of this wider academic partnership, which started via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed earlier this year between DDUGU and Lincoln University College. This arrangement is meant to push collaboration in higher education, through joint degree pathways, staff exchanges, research initiatives and student mobility, so it helps strengthen the academic ties between India and Malaysia.

University officials feel like this initiative will help the employability of graduates quite a bit, by giving them international exposure, advanced management skills, and hands on knowledge that actually fits the global business environment. They also say the programme should appeal to students who want internationally recognized qualifications, but maybe do not want to jump into a full overseas degree right away. In other words, it’s supposed to be a bridge of sorts and it might feel a little more flexible.

Through this pioneering dual MBA program, Gorakhpur University tries to ready future business professionals with knowledge that is globally relevant, leadership ability, and cross cultural skills or, something like that. The partnership with Lincoln University College also strengthens the university’s commitment to provide internationally competitive education and improve the international career prospects for its students.
