IIM Bangalore and FPSB India have teamed up to introduce a new certificate programme in personal finance and wealth advisory aimed at equipping finance professionals with cutting-edge skills for today’s dynamic financial services sector.
Launched by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) in collaboration with the Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB India), the Personal Finance and Wealth Advisory (PFWA) programme has been developed by the Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM) to blend rigorous academic learning with practical industry relevance.
The initiative reflects both institutions’ commitment to strengthening the financial planning ecosystem by nurturing professionals who can navigate the complexities of modern personal finance and wealth management. FPSB India, known for administering the globally recognized Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification, brings its industry leadership to the programme, underscoring the importance of professional standards in financial advice.
According to Dr. Aishwarya Krishna, Research Consultant at CCMRM, the curriculum of the PFWA programme has been carefully designed to align with current market requirements, combining foundational concepts such as microeconomics and business insights with advanced tools including datasets and contemporary advisory frameworks. This structure aims to prepare participants for real-world challenges in financial planning and client advisory roles.
