IIM Kozhikode Starts Admissions for Online Startup Course

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has opened admissions for the seventh batch of its online Professional Certificate Programme in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation, targeting aspiring entrepreneurs, startup founders, and working professionals looking to build or scale business ventures. The eight-month programme is designed to provide structured training in entrepreneurship, innovation, business strategy, finance, and venture management.

The programme will be delivered in an online format through live interactive sessions, allowing professionals to pursue entrepreneurial education while continuing full-time careers. According to programme details, classes are scheduled primarily on weekends and will include case studies, simulations, business planning exercises, and practical startup-focused learning modules.

The curriculum covers key areas including entrepreneurial processes, accounting and finance for startups, debt and equity funding, marketing strategies, organisational structures, social entrepreneurship, growth management, franchising, and business exit planning. Participants will also undertake entrepreneurship simulations and final business plan presentations as part of the certification process.

Officials stated that the programme is aimed at professionals from diverse sectors such as technology, finance, healthcare, manufacturing education, legal services, consulting, media, and e-commerce. The institute highlighted that the course is intended not only for aspiring founders but also for corporate professionals exploring entrepreneurial transitions and innovation-led business opportunities.

The Batch 7 programme is expected to commence on September 5, 2026, with admissions being processed through application screening and credential evaluation. Successful participants meeting attendance and evaluation requirements will receive a certificate of completion from IIM Kozhikode.

IIM Kozhikode has been expanding its entrepreneurship ecosystem through initiatives such as IIMK LIVE, the institute’s startup incubator and entrepreneurship development centre supported by the Department of Science and Technology. The incubator currently supports startup mentoring, seed funding, accelerator programmes, and innovation workshops across sectors including AI, deep tech, manufacturing, and digital businesses.

Industry experts believe demand for entrepreneurship-focused executive education programmes is increasing rapidly as professionals seek skills in startup creation, innovation management, and digital business transformation amid India’s expanding startup ecosystem.
