IIM Lucknow Opens PhD Admissions, Offers Financial Support

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has announced the opening of applications for its Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD) for the 2026 batch. Candidates who are interested and qualified may submit their finished applications by February 16, 2026. The program is set to begin in June 2026.
The institute stated that the shortlist of candidates will be revealed during the first week of March 2026. In the first week of April 2026, personal interviews will be held, and the final list of chosen candidates will be announced in the third week of April 2026. The due date for accepting the offer and submitting the required fees is set for the first week of May 2026. Notification via email will be sent only to shortlisted or selected candidates.
The full-time PhD program covers various research fields, such as Agri-Business Management, Economics and Business Environment, Business Sustainability, Communication, Decision Sciences, Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, IT and Systems, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain, and Strategic Management. Only candidates who are shortlisted or chosen will be informed through email.

Researchers obtain financial assistance comprising a monthly allowance of Rs 35,000–40,000, alongside contingency and computer grants of Rs 50,000 each, in addition to travel and data collection grants reaching up to Rs 1.60 lakh.
Eligibility criteria necessitate a Master’s degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST), a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 75% marks (70% for SC/ST), or professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, or CS with 55% marks. Candidates must have secured at least 55% in all public exams from secondary level onward. Shortlisting for interviews is based on valid CAT, GATE, GRE, GMAT, or JRF/SRF scores obtained from January 1, 2024, with prior industry or academic experience considered favorably.
