Synopsis: The Maharashtra State CET Cell begins CAP Round 1 choice filling for MBA/MMS admissions 2026 on July 28, with the first seat allotment scheduled for August 2, marking the next phase of the state's centralised admission process.
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced the schedule for CAP Round 1 of the MBA and MMS admission process for the 2026–27 academic session. Eligible candidates can begin filling and confirming their college and course preferences from July 28, while the first round of seat allotment will be declared on August 2, marking a key stage in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
The CAP process is conducted for admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Management Studies (MMS) programmes offered by participating government, government-aided, university-managed, and private institutions across Maharashtra. Only candidates who have successfully completed registration and document verification are eligible to participate in the choice-filling process. More than 56,000 candidates have qualified for CAP after completing verification.

During the choice-filling window, candidates can select and prioritise their preferred institutes and courses based on eligibility, merit, and personal preferences. The CET Cell has advised applicants to carefully arrange their options, as seat allotment will be based on merit rank, reservation policies, category, and the preferences submitted by candidates. Once the choice-filling period ends, no further modifications will be permitted.
Candidates allotted seats in the first round must accept the allotment within the stipulated timeline and complete the admission formalities by reporting to the allotted institute. Those wishing to seek better options in subsequent CAP rounds can participate according to the rules specified by the CET Cell.
The MBA/MMS CAP process is one of Maharashtra's largest postgraduate admission exercises, ensuring transparent and merit-based allocation of seats through an online counselling system. The entire admission process is expected to conclude by September 15, 2026, following multiple counselling rounds.
