Rajiv Gandhi University Launches Nanotechnology Certification

RGPV Bhopal launches a two-week online certification programme in nanotechnology, covering nanoscale materials, synthesis, characterisation and applications for students and aspiring professionals.

Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, introduces online certification programmes in nanotechnology aimed at providing learners with foundational knowledge and industry-oriented exposure to the emerging field. The two-week programme is offered at the undergraduate level and is designed for students and other learners interested in understanding Nano scale materials, devices and their applications.

The programme does not require candidates to have prior knowledge of nanotechnology. However, applicants are expected to have a basic understanding of Physics and Chemistry at the Class 12 level. The course is intended for graduating students from engineering, science and allied disciplines, as well as individuals seeking a foundational, credit-linked certification. Entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts and aspiring nanotechnology professionals can also enrol.

The certification course follows an online learning format, allowing participants to access recorded lectures and maintain a flexible, self-paced weekly schedule. The university also provides doubt-clearing sessions with faculty members to support learners throughout the programme. Candidates who successfully complete the course receive a certificate from RGPV along with their final percentage or grade marks.

The curriculum is divided into six modules covering key concepts of nanotechnology. The introductory module familiarises learners with the meaning, history and development of nanotechnology. The second module focuses on the nanoscale and explains how materials behave differently at this level.

The course subsequently introduces nanomaterials and their classification before covering techniques and tools used to observe and measure materials at the nanoscale. Another module focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials, including approaches used to produce nanoscale materials and techniques for analysing their properties.

The final module consolidates the concepts covered during the programme and examines the future scope and career opportunities associated with nanotechnology. The course therefore combines fundamental concepts with real-world and industry-relevant examples to give participants an introductory understanding of the field.

RGPV's School of Nanotechnology also offers longer certification courses, including programmes on the fundamentals of nanotechnology and its industrial applications.
