The Unique Identification Authority of India has announced its Internship Programme 2026, which allows students and recent graduates to participate in government projects that focus on technology and management and law and public policy work.

The initiative provides students with real-world experience because it teaches them to work with Aadhaar and digital identity systems in practical environments.

The internship is available for Indian citizens who are currently studying at any undergraduate or postgraduate or PhD program or who have completed their studies within the past six months. The applicants need to complete their academic records with at least 60% marks or equivalent GPA.

The programme offers flexible duration options which allow for two different duration periods that start at six weeks and end at twelve months according to the needs of different roles and projects.

Interns have the opportunity to work at UIDAI's main office located in New Delhi or its technology center in Bengaluru or at any of its regional offices situated throughout India. Some positions offer the possibility of working from home.

The internship provides a monthly stipend which depends on the applicant's qualifications and students usually receive between ₹20,000 and ₹50,000. PhD scholars and postgraduate candidates generally receive higher stipends, while undergraduate students receive comparatively lower amounts.

To apply candidates must complete the official application form and include essential documents which consist of a resume and academic certificates and then submit their application through the designated submission method which usually requires email delivery.

Students who are currently registered at educational institutions need to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective college or university.

The selection process uses merit criteria for candidate evaluation which involves both shortlisting and interview procedures. The UIDAI Internship 2026 program provides participants with essential industry experience while they develop skills and work on projects that support national digital initiatives.
