The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, has officially opened the registration process for UPESMET 2026, the university-level entrance examination for admission into its MBA programmes for the academic session starting in 2026. The application window is currently active online, and interested candidates must complete their registration on the official UPES admissions portal before January 20, 2026. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered, so aspirants are urged to apply well in advance to avoid last-minute delays.
UPES offers multiple entry pathways into its MBA programmes. While UPESMET is the primary test conducted by the university, candidates also have the option to seek admission using valid scores from national-level management entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, NMAT, and CMAT. Applicants who have taken any of these exams can submit their scores during the UPES application process, which may influence shortlisting and selection, based on the university’s criteria.
To begin the application process, candidates must first register on the UPES admissions website with a valid email address and mobile number. After successful registration, they need to fill in their personal and academic details, upload the required documents, and pay the prescribed application fee online. Once the application is submitted, candidates are advised to download and retain the confirmation page for their records and future reference.

Regarding eligibility, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Some specialized management programmes may require higher academic performance. Students in the final year of their undergraduate degree can also apply, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
The UPESMET exam itself is scheduled in an online, remote proctored mode, allowing candidates to take the test from their chosen location, provided they meet the technical requirements. Shortlisted candidates, whether through UPESMET or national test scores, may subsequently be invited for additional selection phases such as group discussions and personal interviews, depending on the programme and admission route.
