AP PGECET 2026 Counselling Schedule Out: Registration Sept 16

Andhra University announces the counselling schedule for the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) 2026 for admissions to MTech, MPharmacy and PharmD programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. The counselling process covers admissions to participating government and private institutions across Andhra Pradesh.

The online registration and processing fee payment window opens on September 16 and remains available until September 21, 2026. Candidates are required to complete the registration process within the specified timeline to participate in the subsequent stages of counselling. Online verification of uploaded certificates is scheduled from September 17 to September 22 at the notified help-line centres.

Following certificate verification, candidates can exercise their preferred colleges and courses through the web options facility from September 18 to September 21. The counselling authority also provides an option-change facility on September 25, allowing candidates to modify their previously entered choices before seat allotment.

Admission is conducted using GATE, GPAT and AP PGECET scores. Candidates who qualify through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) receive first preference for admission to the relevant programmes based on their scores. Seats remaining after the GATE and GPAT allotment are subsequently offered to AP PGECET candidates according to their merit ranks.

For eligibility, candidates must be Indian nationals and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from an institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or University Grants Commission (UGC). The minimum qualifying marks are 50%, while candidates belonging to reserved categories require at least 45%. Of the available seats, 85% are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh, while 15% remain unreserved for eligible local and non-local candidates.

Candidates who secure seats must complete self-joining and report to their allotted institutions between September 30 and October 3. Classes for MTech, MPharmacy and PharmD programmes are scheduled to commence from September 30. Applicants are advised to complete each counselling stage within the prescribed deadlines and regularly monitor the official counselling portal for updates.
