ESIC Opens Admissions for 783 Medical, Nursing Seats
Synopsis: ESIC opens admissions for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing courses under the Ward of Insured Person quota for 2026-27. A total of 783 seats are available for eligible candidates seeking admission through NEET UG.
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), functioning under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has commenced the admission process for undergraduate medical, dental and nursing programmes for the academic session 2026-27. The admissions are being conducted under the Ward of Insured Person (IP) quota, a special provision designed to provide educational opportunities to the children and wards of individuals covered under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme.
For the upcoming academic year, ESIC has announced a total of 783 seats across MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing programmes offered through its institutions and affiliated colleges. The initiative aims to support eligible families by providing access to professional healthcare education through a dedicated reservation mechanism.
According to the admission notification, the available seats include 695 MBBS seats, 28 BDS seats and 60 B.Sc Nursing seats distributed across ESIC medical, dental and nursing institutions as well as select government colleges participating in the scheme. The admissions will be based on eligibility criteria prescribed by ESIC and performance in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026.

Candidates seeking admission under the Ward of IP quota must be children or wards of insured persons registered under the ESI Scheme and must fulfil the required contribution and eligibility conditions laid down by the corporation. Applicants are also required to qualify in NEET UG 2026 and submit the necessary supporting documents during the application process.
The online application process requires candidates to register through the official ESIC admission portal, provide personal and academic details, upload relevant certificates and complete the verification requirements within the stipulated timeline. ESIC has advised applicants to carefully review all information before submission to avoid complications during counselling and seat allocation.
The Ward of IP quota continues to serve as an important pathway for eligible students aspiring to pursue careers in medicine, dentistry and nursing. By reserving seats specifically for beneficiaries of the ESI Scheme, ESIC seeks to enhance access to quality healthcare education while supporting the welfare of insured workers and their families.
Candidates are encouraged to regularly monitor official ESIC notifications for updates regarding application schedules, document verification, counselling procedures and seat allotment announcements. With hundreds of seats available across multiple institutions, the admission process offers a significant opportunity for eligible NEET-qualified students to secure placements in healthcare programmes across the country.
