  • NMC released the NEET PG 2025 counseling schedule and seat matrix for 2025‑26 admissions.
  • Counseling will occur in several rounds covering AIQ and state quota seats through January 2026.
  • Institutions must verify seat data, and candidates must regularly check MCC/NMC portals for updates.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially released the counseling schedule and seat matrix for NEET PG 2025 admissions, covering both the All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota seats for the 2025‑26 academic year. This announcement comes with detailed timelines, including multiple rounds of counseling and instructions for participating medical colleges and candidates.

According to the public notice issued by the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the NMC, the NEET PG 2025 counseling will be conducted in several stages: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a stray vacancy round, applicable to both AIQ and state quota seats. The first two rounds have already been completed, with Round 3 scheduled to continue into January 2026. The stray vacancy round is also planned to conclude by the end of that month.

To achieve a smooth and integrated process, the NMC has guided the state counseling authorities to adhere strictly to the national schedule as established by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) and not to interfere with their programmes with AIQ counseling programmes. All the participating institutions shall also be bound by the deadlines in order to create uniformity.

Alongside the schedule, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the NMC have published the final seat matrix, detailing the number of post‑graduate broad speciality seats available across the country as of early December 2025. This includes seats in various medical colleges and institutions, reflecting updates and approvals issued up to that date. Institutions are required to verify their seat data and report any discrepancies to the MARB within 15 days of notification.

Candidates are being urged to regularly check the official MCC and NMC websites for updates on seat allotments, joining deadlines, and any further changes to the counseling process. The aim is to ensure transparency and timely completion of the entire counseling and admission cycle.
