- Eligible unmarried male and female NCC candidates can apply through official website.

The Indian Army has opened online registrations for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course 2026 which offers National Cadet Corps (NCC) certificate holders the chance to become commissioned officers in the armed forces.
The registration process began on February 13, 2026, and will continue until March 16, 2026, on the official recruitment portal joinindianarmy.nic.in.
The entry scheme targets unmarried male and female graduates who want to obtain a Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) in the Indian Army including battle-casualty Army personnel's wards. The training course itself is scheduled to commence in October 2026.
The intake process has announced 76 job openings which will be filled through NCC candidates and a few positions that will go to eligible Army dependents whose parents died while serving in the military.
The eligibility criteria require applicants to hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a minimum 50 percent grade point average and to present an NCC 'C' Certificate which they obtained from recognized certification bodies.

Candidates who are completing their final undergraduate year can submit their application if they will meet the academic standards required by their programs before the course begins.
The age eligibility requires candidates to be between 19 and 25 years old as of July 1 2026 with birth dates falling between July 2 2001 and July 1 2007.
The NCC Special Entry program requires applicants to meet educational and NCC standards for selection instead of a written test which is common to most defence entry programs.
Candidates who pass the initial screening process will be invited to the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. The medical examination process starts after candidates pass the SSB interview and their final merit assessment will depend on their performance during this procedure.
The Officers Training Academy (OTA) will provide training to participants who complete all phases, which will lead to their commission as Lieutenants in the Indian Army through Short Service Commission.
