IISER IAT 2026 Registration Starts Mar 5: Details

  • IISER will start IAT 2026 registration process from March 5 for admissions.

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) have released their admission timeline for 2026 including when to register for IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 starting on 5th March 2026.

If you are interested in applying for an undergraduate science program, dual-degree program in scientific research, or an engineering-science program you will need to use the IISER admission portal to submit your application online by 13th April 2026.

If you need to update any of your information you can do so within the corrections window from the time of submitting your application until 15th April 2026.

The IAT 2026 exam will take place 7th June 2026 at multiple test centers across India, from 9am to 12pm. Upon completion of registration you may access your admit card from 24th May 2026.

The IISER Aptitude Test serves as the sole entrance examination for admission to several undergraduate programmes across the seven IISER campuses. The five-year BS-MS dual degree program which all IISERs offer and the specialised BS-MS programs which include Computational and Data Sciences at IISER Kolkata and the new BS-MS programs in Geology and Environmental Sciences at IISER Mohali.

Students can pursue admission to four-year BS and BTech programs which include BS in Economic Sciences at IISER Bhopal and Tirupati and BTech degrees in Engineering and Data Science & Engineering at IISER Bhopal.

Candidates need to complete Class 12 requirements which include three science subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, for eligibility between 2024 and 2025 or the current examination in 2026.

Certain specialised programmes require Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the Class XII level. Foreign nationals must upload an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities if their board qualification is not recognised within India.

The IISER admissions process requires complete assessment of applicants while providing them research opportunities to study on campus through its residential programs that support interdisciplinary scientific training.
