Income Tax Recruitment 2026 Offers Jobs for 10th Pass

The Income Tax Department invites applications for seven Canteen Attendant posts in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Class 10 pass candidates aged 18–25 can apply until August 31, with salaries up to ₹56,900.
The Income Tax Department is seeking applicants for the post of seven Canteen Attendants in the Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh region. The recruitment process is an opening for those who have passed Class 10 examination from any recognized board to get a government job of Group C category. The online application procedure will start from 11th August 2026 and applicants can apply till 31st August 2026. No application fee is applicable for the recruitment process.
The aspirants have to be the citizens of India and must fall within the age range of 18-25 years as on August 31, 2026. Age relaxation can be extended to eligible aspirants belonging to reserved category and other sections under the rules of the government. The relaxation for OBC aspirants is of 3 years, while for SC/ST aspirants, it is 5 years. Other forms of relaxation apply to PwBD aspirants and ex-servicemen/Central Government Employees.

Canteen Attendant is one of the positions under the Group C, non-gazetted and non-ministerial classification. Successful candidates undergo a period of probation lasting two years. The selection procedure involves several steps including the initial short-listing through Class 10 marks, written exam, skill test, and documentation verification.
For the written exam, the department shortlists 280 candidates, which means 40 candidates per each post. This examination comprises of 40 objective type questions worth 40 marks, and the duration allotted to the candidates to finish the exam is 30 minutes. This examination contains questions on English Comprehension, Hindi, Food & Nutrition, Mathematics, and Hygiene & Cleanliness. One mark would be deducted from the candidate’s score for every wrong answer attempted by the candidates.
Those who are eligible for the written test go on to the skill test of 60 marks. The practical test assesses the candidate’s proficiency in making drinks and food, serving food in an appropriate manner, and hygiene. Documentation is the next step in the selection process.

The selected candidate gets an amount under Pay Scale Level 1 of the 7th Pay Commission, where the pay level varies between ₹18,000 and ₹56,900 per month. In addition to the basic salary, the candidates will get other allowances like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Travel Allowance, etc., according to Central Government employees' terms and conditions.
The selection will allow those who have passed Class 10 the chance to enter the government sector through the Income Tax Department. Candidates who are interested in applying are requested to take a look at the recruitment notice and apply before the due date.
