UPSC IES/ISS 2026 Registration Begins: Apply Now

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has begun to accept applications for Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) exams in 2026.

This is a great opportunity for candidates seeking jobs in these highly-regarded government positions. Interested candidates should now apply using the official UPSC application website.The application process opened on February 1, 2026, and will close on March 3, 2026 (6 PM). The current recruitment campaign from UPSC will fill up to 44 positions across the IES & ISS positions.

To apply candidates need to register on the UPSC Online Application Portal at upsconline.nic.in and complete the Universal Registration Number process which grants access to all UPSC examinations. Applicants create the URN and then need to complete the specific exam form which requires them to upload their documents and pay the applicable fees.

The application fee is ₹200 for general candidates, while female; SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted. Users have the option to make payments using net banking, debit or credit cards, and UPI facilities.

Eligibility requirements include age limits (most are 21 to 30, although age may be higher if the aspirant has served as a member of the Armed Forces Reserve for 5 years or more) and education qualifications (most commonly those qualified for the IES will hold a postgraduate degree in economics and those qualified for the ISS will have a bachelor's or master's degree in statistics.).

The UPSC IES / ISS Examination are being conducted in June 2026 and the present behavioral assessment and interview processes will be available on the UPSC website on May 31st, 2026 directly from that website by way of electronic download.
