Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre Opens Internship Program for Student

- Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre invites UG, PG, and PhD students for internships.
- Eligible engineering and science students must meet minimum academic performance criteria.
- Selected candidates gain research exposure, though internships offer no stipend support.
The Human Resource Development Division of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has opened a fresh round of internship opportunities for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students who wish to gain experience in space science and technology research.
The current application process invites students who study scientific and engineering and technological fields to apply for research projects and internships at one of India’s top space research facilities which operate under the Department of Space.
The internships are open to Indian citizens pursuing degrees such as B.Tech, BE, M.Tech, ME, MSc, integrated MSc/MTech, BS-MS, and PhD, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants need to achieve a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale to qualify for this program. PhD students must have completed their course work to qualify for the programme. Interested candidates must register and apply through the online portal by March 16, 2026.
Undergraduate and diploma students must complete their project work through team formation which requires them to work in groups of two to four members from their particular academic branch and university.

The internships follow a schedule which consists of specific work blocks that extend throughout the academic calendar year and require engineering students to complete 45 to 90 days of work and science and diploma students to complete 45 to 60 days of work.
Interns who are chosen for this program will conduct research work in unclassified sections of VSSC and ISRO research projects. The centre has announced that it will not provide any financial assistance or stipend during the internship period.
The selection process will exclude some applicants because the facility can only accommodate a limited number of students according to its capacity.
University students receive valuable internship opportunities through this program which allows them to participate in actual space research environments while working with top scientists and engineers to advance India's space research objectives.
