Despite the huge demand for highly qualified labor in the management sector, CAT 2014 recorded a new low of 1,89,759 from the previous eight years, down nearly 33 percent from its peak in 2008. With, six new proposed IIMs being added to the existing 13, the chances for securing a seat in one of the IIMs has increased in leaps and bounds. Yet, the IIMs can only accommodate 3335 students against the huge number of aspirants that apply each year. Hence, gaining an MBA degree from the prestigious IIMs will continue to be a distant dream for majority of the students in the country. A vast majority of students who do not make the cut in IIMs often ponder about the future of their career aspirations.
