IIM-M, Whistling Woods Launch MBA in Media & Entertainment

As per their announcement, The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has collaborated with Whistling Woods International (WWI) to offer a specialized MBA program in Media & Entertainment (M&E) beginning June 2026. Shiksha.com reported this collaboration is aiming to create professionals with modern management skills to lead the fast-changing global M&E industry.

The curriculum covers film, TV, OTT, corporate finance, data science, brand management, new technologies, intellectual property, the business of animation and comics; and M&E laws and ethics.

Professor Manoj Tiwari, director of IIM Mumbai, stated that students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in sessions for a fully integrated experience, with real-world case-studies, live projects, and mentorship from industry leaders who will be visiting across both campuses.

He noted the program's contribution toward positioning India as a global leader in Media & Entertainment (M&E) through a transformative education. Subhash Ghai, chairperson WWI, acknowledged the collaboration enhances creative and business skills for graduates, while Meghna Ghai Puri, WWI (president), stated that the program will advance creativity and management combined for well-rounded skill development.

Graduates will graduate with an IIM MBA degree with all the accompanying alumni privileges and access to the alumni professional network. Candidates must have an acceptable bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent (or 45% marks for SC, ST, or PW/PD candidates) and a valid CAT 2025 score.

They will then be invited for a personal interview as part of the admissions process. The program is in keeping with the growth projection for India’s M&E sector to reach $55 billion (USD) by 2030, benefitting from India’s share-of-market with digital platforms, and the enduring global demand for top M&E professionals.
