IIM, AIIMS Nagpur Open Admissions for Healthcare MBA

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur have begun enrollment for the sixth cohort of their Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Advanced Healthcare Management.

The one-year blended learning program targets healthcare practitioners looking to acquire leadership and strategic management abilities to maneuver through the industry's swift evolution. The initiative merges IIM Nagpur's management skills with AIIMS Nagpur's healthcare expertise, marking it as the first partnership of its kind.

Participants will also take part in a four-day immersive campus experience, including lectures and masterclasses from both institutions' faculty. The content covers many topics including healthcare policy, finance, operations, technology, analytics, human resources, and strategic planning. In addition, it prepares students for various positions in the industry, preparing them to lead hospitals, healthcare organizations and startups.

"The healthcare sector is witnessing exceptional growth and investments, creating a strong demand for skilled professionals," said Dr Bhimaraya Metri, director, IIM Nagpur.

"This programme equips learners with cross-functional capabilities crucial for the sector."Dr Prashant P Joshi, executive director, AIIMS Nagpur, said that the course was designed to "nurture the next generation of healthcare executives" by connecting medical knowledge with management approaches.

The course will be offered via TimesPro's interactive platform in a direct-to-device (D2D) format. The teaching methods encompass case discussions, simulation exercises, role-playing activities, and collaborative projects. Participants who succeed will additionally gain alumni status.

According to the Boston Consulting Group, India's healthcare sector was worth $2.7 billion in 2022 and is likely to grow to $37 billion by 2030, primarily driven by advancements, technology and access to healthcare. The course closes for enrollment on November 2, and it starts on November 23.
