IIMs Launch Joint MBA Admissions Process 2026

  • IIM Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi & Tiruchirappalli start JAP 2026.
  • IIM Raipur to coordinate admissions for all four IIMs.
  • One portal for MBA, simplifying applications post-CAT results.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, and Tiruchirappalli declared the initiation of the Joint Admission Process (JAP) for MBA admissions for the upcoming academic year. As stated in the press announcement, IIM Raipur will coordinate JAP 2026, managing the admission process for all four involved IIMs.

JAP 2026 is a collaborative effort demonstrating dedication to quality, efficient resource management, and providing a clear, student-centered admission process that aligns with IIM standards, according to the IIM statement.

It likewise seeks to simplify the admissions procedure for candidates, enabling them to apply to four IIMs via one application portal. After the CAT result is announced, candidates will be able to secure admission in any of the four participating IIMs through a combined admission procedure.

Prof Sanjeev Prashar, director-in-charge, IIM Raipur, said, “We are honoured to announce the Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026, fostering collaboration among four premier IIMs. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to resource optimisation, student-centric admissions, and strengthening the IIM brand for future leaders. JAP 2026 reflects our dedication to maintaining high standards and opening new opportunities for aspiring MBA candidates.”

Last year, IIM Sambalpur chose to carry out its admission process for the MBA program independently. The same admission procedure will be utilized for the other course launched, namely the MBA in Business Analytics, which provides an option for a dual degree from a global institute. The procedure was put into effect in this academic year.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has been ranked as the leading institute in India in the Financial Times (FT) rankings for Master's in Management 2025. The Institute achieved the 28th position, outpacing IIM Ahmedabad, which is ranked as the top management institute in the country according to the NIRF 2025 rankings.
